There are two types of water soluble products:
- Type 1
- Product appearance: Dark purple powder
- Spray dried alkaline solution of carmine
- Completely soluble in cold water
- Carminic acid content: 19 – 60%
- Color shade provided after dilution: Red Yellowish to Red Bluish
- Main applications: Meat, spice mixtures, yogurt, milk drinks, ice creams, confectionery and pastry
- Commercial name: Biocon Carmine HSC range
- Type 2
- Product appearance: Fine red powder
- Calcium aluminum lake, stabilized in alkali
- Completely soluble in hot water
- Carminic acid content: Min. 19%
- Color shade provided after dilution: Red Yellowish to Red Bluish
- Main applications: Meat, confectionery and bakery
- Commercial name: Biocon Carmine HWS range
